05 January 2016- Morpeth, Northumberland.
This evening we visited Morpeth where the River Wansbeck was running at a very high level after very heavy rain. There was already flooding on some roads around the town and it looked as if the river might burst it's banks. However, the new flood defences were not breached.
The first two photos are views of the fast flowing River Wansbeck taken from Telford Bridge during very heavy rain. The third photo is a view of the Xmas decorations still lit up on Bridge Street.
