25 August 2015 - Rothbury, Northumberland.
This morning we went for a walk on the moors above Rothbury where the heather was in full bloom creating a purple carpet over miles of ground.
The first photo below is a view along the footpath through the heather towards the cairn seen in the second photo.
The third photo is a view along the old carriage drive built for Lord Armstrong and the fourth photo is a view towards the Cheviot Hills.
The last photo is a view of two cyclists who passed us along the track heading down towards Rothbury.

23 August 2015 - Blyth, Northumberland.
This evening we visited Blyth for a walk along the beach to the West Pier. There was a strong on-shore wind that was whipping up the sea .

10 August 2015 - Amble, Northumberland.
This evening we visited Amble for a walk along the quayside and pier.
The first photo below is a view of fishing boats moored at Amble Quayside followed by two views of long shadows of the pier cast by the setting sun.
.The fourth photo is a view through the pier supports to a small boat that was returning along the river. The last photo is a view of the pier from the Little Shore Beach.

07 August 2015 - QEII Country Park, Ashington, Northumberland.
This afternoon we visited QEII Country Park at Ashington for a walk around the lake to Woodhorn Museum.
The first photo below is a view of swans and geese on the launching ramp beside the hotel car park, followed by a view across the lake to the train travelling from Woodhorn Museum to Lakeside Halt.
The third and fourth photos are views of the trains engine being changed at Woodhorn Museum Station and the last photo is a view of the train leaving Woodhorn Museum Station for Lakeside Halt.

This afternoon we visited Newbiggin to take a few photos looking across the bay.
