24 March 2014 - St. Mary's Island, Whitley Bay.
This morning we walked along the clifftop footpath from Seaton Sluice to St. Mary's Island at Whitley Bay, crossing the causeway to the lighthouse at low tide.
The first photo below is a view to St. Mary's Island from the clifftop footpath, followed by a view along the causeway to the island and lighthouse. The third photo is a view of the lighthouse from the rocks and the fourth photo is a view of the lighthouse from the promenade and footpath to Whitley Bay.
The fifth photo is a view to Old Hartley Caravan club site from St. Mary's Island and the last photo is a view along the coast towards Seaton Sluice and Blyth.

24 March 2014 - Seaton Sluice, Northumberland.
This morning we visited Seaton Sluice to take some photos of the daffodils above the harbour and the beach just south of Old Hartley Caravan Site.
The first two photos below are views looking across the harbour, followed by a view in the harbour from below the bridge.
The fourth photo is a view along the beach at Hartley looking north and the last photo is a view looking south to St. Mary's Island.

24 March 2014 - Blyth, Northumberland.
This morning we visited Blyth for a short walk to the South Harbour.
The first two photos below are views of the piers and Blyth Lighthouse. The third photo is a view along the beach towards the piers and the last two photos are views of the South Harbour and Marina.

21 March 2014 - QEII Country Park, Ashington, Northumberland.
This afternoon we visited QEII Country Park at Ashington for a walk around the lake and a visit to Woodhorn Museum.
The first two photos below are views from the footpath on the west shore of the lake followed by a view near the south end of the lake. The fourth photo is a view of the railway from Woodhorn Museum to Lakeside Halt.
The last photo is a view in the museum grounds of the pithead winding gear, engine rooms and miners monument that used to be in the Hirst Park in Ashington.

13 March 2014 - Coldingham Bay, Berwickshire Coast, Scotland.
After visiting St. Abbs this afternoon we visited nearby Coldingham Bay for a walk along the beach.
The first photo below is a view along the beach which has deeply coloured red rocks as seen in the second photo.
The third photo is a view looking north across the bay to St. Abbs, followed by a view looking towards the beach and the brightly coloured beach huts, some of which are very old.
The last photo is a view from the rocks at the north end of the bay looking along the Berwickshire Coast towards Eyemouth in the distance.

13 March 2014 - St. Abbs Harbour, Berwickshire Coast, Scotland.
This afternoon we visited St. Abbs on the Berwickshire Coast in Scotland for a short walk around the harbour.
The first two photos below are views looking down to the harbour from the steps at the top of the steep approach road. The third photo is a view across the harbour towards the Lifeboat House and the fourth photo is a view towards the boat launching ramp.

12 March 2014 - Berwick, Northumberland.
This afternoon we visited Berwick for a walk along Pier Road, the Quay Walls, Berwick Old Bridge and the town centre.
We also visited Berwick Pier, which is where the first two photos below were taken, looking along the pier and the Little Beach, a location painted by LS Lowry and part of the Lowry Trail around Berwick.
The next three photos were taken along Pier Road and the walls overlooking the mouth of the River Tweed as the tide was going out.

12 March 2014 - Coldingham, Berwickshire Coast, Scotland.
This morning we visited Coldingham Village, on the Berwickshire Coast in Scotland, for a walk around the historic Coldingham Priory.
The first three photos below are views of the priory taken from the grounds, showing the church and some of the remains of the cloisters.
The fourth photo is a view of the footpath that runs alongside the Scavie Burn that flows through the village and the last photo is a view across fields to Coldingham Village and the coast.

11 March 2014 - Eyemouth, Berwickshire Coast, Scotland.
This afternoon we visited Eyemouth, on the Berwickshire Coast in Scotland, for a walk around the harbour and beach.
The first three photos below are views taken from Eyemouth Beach, looking towards the harbour entrance.
The fourth photo is a view of Gunsgreen House, built by a notorious smuggler and the last photo is a view at the end of Eyemouth Pier.

Today we visited Morpeth for a walk along the River Wansbeck to Carlisle Park.
