16 January 2012 - Bothal, Northumberland.
This morning we walked to Bothal through frosty fields and paths as far as the weir in the woods leading to Morpeth.
The first photo below is a view of the path through the fields from Pegswood, followed by a view looking down to Bothal Village, with chimneys smoking in the mist.
The next photo is a view a horse with it's coat on and some sheep in the frosty fields near Bothal Castle. The last two photos are views of the weir and the footpath between Bothal Sawmill and Morpeth.

13 January 2012 - Blyth, Northumberland Coast.
This afternoon we visited Blyth for a walk along the beach to the South Harbour. It was cold but very fine and there were lots of dog walkers on the beach and surfers in the sea.
The first photo below is a view along the beach looking towards St. Mary's Island in the distance. The second photo is a view of two boats seemingly on collision course with gulls and a surfer in the foreground.
The next two photos are views of the piers and the last photo is a view of fishing boats moored in Blyth South Harbour.

09 January 2012 - North Shields Fish Quay.
This afternoon we visited the Fish Quay at North Shields to take a few photos for our Tyne Photos website.
The first two photos below are views of a fishing boat approaching the fish quay in the late afternoon sun, followed by a view of fishing boats that were already moored at the quay.
The fourth and fifth photos are views of the car carrier ship City of Barcelona passing North Shields Fish Quay and sailing up the River Tyne into the setting sun.

09 January 2012 - Seaton Sluice, Northumberland.
Today we visited Seaton Sluice for a walk along the beach to the harbour.
The first two photos below are views of the beach looking towards the harbour entrance, followed by a view in the opposite direction towards Blyth.
The last two photos are views of the harbour and "The Cut" which was the harbour entrance for ships many years ago.

05 January 2012 - Cockle Park near Hebron, Northumberland.
This afternoon we took some photos from the country roads around Cockle Park which is between Hebron and Tritlington in Northumberland.
The first photo below is a view along the road near Cockle Park, followed by a view to Ulgham and the North Sea taken from a mile or so further along the road.
The third photo is a view of Cockle Park Tower, followed by another view towards the coast. The last photo is a view of the old opencast haul road to Widdrington which is now being dismantled.
