Les + Jan Bell - Photographers Diary February 2012
29 February 2012 - Bothal, Northumberland.

Today we walked to Bothal in fine afternoon sunshine which made the Beech hedges stand out along the roadside, as seen in the first photo below.

The next two photos are views of Bothal Castle followed by two views of Northumberland's latest monstrosity - giant wind turbines near Lynemouth. Seen from the road to Pegswood these turbines now dominate the view for miles around.

07 February 2012 - Bothal - Morpeth Walk, Northumberland.

This morning we walked to Morpeth along the recently restored footpath from Bothal. The path runs alongside the River Wansbeck and used to be very muddy and slippery in places. It wasn't muddy this morning though, but still very slippery in places where the ground was rock hard and frozen.

Below are five views taken along the path between Bothal and the bottom of the Whorral Bank at Morpeth.

06 February 2012 - Morpeth, Northumberland.

This afternoon we walked to Morpeth past the railway near Climbing Tree Farm, down the Whorral Bank and along the River Wansbeck into the town centre.

The first two photos below are views of the road to Climbing Tree Farm, followed by a view of the River Wansbeck in Morpeth.

The last two photos are views of the bridge across the River Wansbeck at Low Stanners, where the remains of a light snowfall were still lingering.
