30 September 2010 - Bolam Lake, Northumberland.
This morning we visited Bolam Lake Country Park for a walk around the lake. It was a very fine sunny morning with quite a few other visitors.
In the first photo billowing clouds were reflecting in the water to produce a lovely view along the lake. The second photo is a view of the swans gathered at their favourite feeding place looking for food, followed by two photos of swans, geese and ducks gathering at the west end of the lake.
The fifth photo is a view of the west end of the lake and the last photo is a view of nearby Bolam Church.

20 September 2010 - Morpeth, Northumberland.
Today we visited Morpeth and as it was a fine day we took a walk through Carlisle Park. The last of the summer bedding plants were flowering nicely (but removed a few days later).
The first two photos below are views of Carlisle Park and Morpeth Court House, followed by a view of the path through the park at Ha' Hill, the site of an 11th century motte and bailey tower that once defended Morpeth.
The fourth photo is a view of the River Wansbeck at Telford Bridge followed by a view further upstream near Elliott Bridge.

16 September 2010 - Beacon Point, Newbiggin, Northumberland Coast.
Early this morning we walked along the beach to Beacon Point between Newbiggin and Lynemouth. The beach is seen in the first photo below and from Beacon Point in the next two photos.
The fourth photo below is a view from Beacon Point looking north towards Lynemouth and Alcan Power Station. The last two photos were taken at the south end of Lyne Sands - without doubt the scruffiest stretch of coast in Northumberland. Stripped cable cuttings, pipe and other rubbish was littered in a corner - what a mess.

01 September 2010 - Quayside, Newcastle upon Tyne.
This morning we visited Newcastle to take some updated photos for our Tyne Photos website. We caught the Millennium Bridge as it was opening and took some photos looking up the river from the quayside.
The first photo below is a view of the Millennium Bridge fully open and framing the Tyne Bridge, which in turn framed the High Level Bridge and Swing Bridge.
The second photo is a view of the Tyne Bridge, High Level Bridge and Swing Bridge and the third photo is a view of the High Level Bridge, Metro Bridge and Swing Bridge with the King Edward Bridge just visible in the background. The last two photos are views of Newcastle Quayside taken from the Millennium Bridge, looking upstream and downstream. In the last photo the blue and white boats are tour boats that sail up and down the River Tyne on regular excursions.
