29 June 2006 - Pauperhaugh, Northumberland.
This morning we visited Brinkburn Priory in the Coquet
Valley near Rothbury in Northumberland. Preparations were underway
for a music festival so we didn't stay long.
Instead we headed further up the valley to nearby
Pauperhaugh where a fine stone bridge built about 1825 crosses the
River Coquet next to a weir.
This is a photo of Pauperhaugh bridge and weir

15 June 2006 - River Tweed, Berwick,
Northumberland.
A visit to Berwick during warm, but unfortunately
mainly dull weather meant not many good photos.
However, at high tide a ship was leaving the River
Tweed and gave the opportunity for a few photos taken from a distance
with a zoom lens.
This view shows the Dutch Ship Elise, negotiating
the deep water channel out of the River Tweed.

09 June 2006 - Mitford Castle near
Morpeth, Northumberland.
A return visit to Mitford Castle for stock photos
at the right time of day this time.
Late afternoon is the best time for photos here due
to the elevation of the ruins and to get a good blue sky effect.
This view shows the ruins of what was once an important
castle perched on a hill top.

08 June 2006 - Belsay Gardens, Northumberland.
After we left Newcastle we visited Belsay Gardens
knowing that the Rhododendrons would now be in full colour.
There is a superb display of colour here, surely one
of the best in the country.

A visit to Newcastle today to take stock photos
of the Swing Bridge over the River Tyne.
It turned a bit hazy due to the heat but photos without
sky in them were not affected.

07 June 2006 - Hulne Park, Alnwick,
Northumberland.
A walk in Hulne Park at Alnwick, Northumberland.
Hulne Park is part of the Estate of Alnwick Castle
and the Duke of Northumberland. The park is open to the public providing
that you keep to the designated roads. It is a very nice place to
walk in peace and quiet.

06 June 2006 - Mitford Castle near
Morpeth, Northumberland.
A visit to Mitford castle later in the day than
planned due to business discussions.
The sun was not at the best angle for good photos
of the front of the castle ruins and it was getting a bit hazy.
This photo was taken from inside the ruins looking
up to the front wall.

03 June 2006 - Cresswell, Northumberland
Coast
After a hot sunny morning we decided to visit the
coast at Cresswell. The sun must have been waiting for us because
when we arrived it disappeared.
Most people who had been at the beach also seemed
to have gone, leaving an empty view.
This photo looks north towards Cresswell Village.
