23 July 2015 - Amble, Northumberland.

This evening we visited Amble for a walk along the pier and promenade.

The first two photos below are views of the breakwater and promenade followed by a view of Cliff House.

The fourth photo is a view from the pier to the promenade and the last photo is a view of the circus that was busy setting up.

06 & 07 July 2015 - Pegswood Station, Northumberland.

Two Steam engines passed through Pegswood on consecutive days - Tornado and Sir Nigel Gresley.

The first two photos are views of the Tornado with it's support coach followed by a view of Sir Nigel Gresley hauling an excursion train. The fourth photo is a view of the diesel at the rear of the train hauled by Sir Nigel Gresley.

The last photo is a view of a Class 66 diesel approaching Pegswood Station with a freight train.

02 July 2015 - Pegswood Community Country Park near Morpeth, Northumberland.

This afternoon we went to Pegswood Community Country Park near Morpeth, for a walk around the lake.

While walking we noticed some black insects among the flowers with red spots on their wings. After some research we found these to be Burnet Moths, something we have never seen before.

There were a lot of them and they appeared to be the six-spot variety as seen in the first three photos below. The last two photos are views across the lake.
