25 February 2015 - Bolam Lake, Northumberland.
Today we visited Bolam Lake in Northumberland for a short walk around the lake.

17 February 2015 - Ashington Community Woodland, Northumberland.
Today we visited Ashington Community Woodland and walked along some of the paths we had not been along before. We took a circular route through the woods via the lake at Haydon Letch.

10 February 2015 - Ashington Community Woodland, Northumberland.
Today we visited Ashington Community Woodland and walked along the old railway, then through the woods to the lake at Haydon Letch.

08 February 2015 - Hauxley, Northumberland.
This afternoon after we left Amble we visited nearby Hauxley for a walk along the beach.
The first three photos below are views of Coquet Island from Hauxley Beach, followed by two views looking north along the beach towards the cottages on the dunes.

08 February 2015 - Amble, Northumberland.
This afternoon we visited Amble for a walk around the harbour and pier.
The first photo below is a view along the River Coquet to Warkworth Castle, followed by a view of Amble Harbour.
The third photo is a view of a fishing boat returning to Amble and the fourth photo shows a rook that was perched on top of a fishing boat moored at the quayside. The last photo is a view of Amble Lighthouse with Coquet Island in the distance.

07 February 2015 - River Wansbeck, Bothal, Northumberland.
This morning we walked to the River Wansbeck at Bothal. The fish ladder at the weir has been removed and what was once a lovely scenic place has been left as an eyesore.
The first three photos below are views of the weir with a gap in the middle where the fish ladder used to be. The next photo is a view of the now dry part of the weir followed by a view from above the weir.
