27 August 2013 - Ashington, Northumberland.
This afternoon we visited QE2 Country Park, near Ashington for a walk around the lake.
It was a very warm day and many of the swans and geese were feeding or sitting on the lake shore, as seen in the first three photos below.
Just outside the park, crops in the fields near Woodhorn were being harvested using a giant combine harvester, as seen in the last three photos.

22 August 2013 - Ashington, Northumberland.
This afternoon we visited Ashington Community Woodland on the north side of the town centre at Ashington in Northumberland. A good place for a quiet walk through woodland trails and paths.
The first four photos below are views around the lake at Haydon Letch in the middle of the woods. The last photo is a view along the disused mineral line from Ashington to Linton. The line also used to carry the occasional passenger excursion tour.

16 August 2013 - Sheepwash, Northumberland.
This afternoon we walked along the River Wansbeck at Wansbeck Riverside Park, between Sheepwash and Stakeford.
Below are five photos taken along the riverside footpath including one of a lone swan that was being fed by a passer-by.
